Discussion topics

Update on the status of ARF. ARF works in sprints of about 4 weeks.

Current sprint would end with the release of ARF 1.1 and mostly includes the annexes at https://github.com/eu-digital-identity-wallet/architecture-and-reference-framework/tree/main/annexesregarding mDL procedures.

Next sprint due to the end of May would cover EPICs on online identification and authentication, rulebook for proximity user and use case of mobile Driving License and Wallet Design Guide.

Then starts a discussion on the focus of the group. After the design of the diagram of example AE0302 (login) we can either continue designing the rest of the examples/user stories or try to implement AE0302 to face the possible implementation problems.

And the end we agreed that we should design at least one more user story, credential presentation AE0501. To align its design with OpenID4VP we will use the latest OpenID4VP definition at: https://openid.net/specs/openid-4-verifiable-presentations-1_0.html

After this design we will try to develop an example using some of the existing libraries. The problem of the development language arises here: Alastria EPIC is developed in Javascript. The preferred library for OpenID is Identity wallet infrastructure — walt.id written in Kotlin. For the Issuer/Relying party backend there shouldn’t be a problem as long as everything can be used with microservices architecture. But the problem is the Subject wallet. React or Flutter are preferred as development language for the wallet. Walt.id would be Kotlin and AlastriaEPIC is JavaScript (unless ported).

@Alejandro Nieto Gallego @Alejandro Alfonso and @Urko Larranaga Piedra (Deactivated) will come to the next session with proposals on the wallets are they are developing that piece.

Next meeting plannet on the 9th of May due to local bank holiday in Madrid.
